Steve Gardiner Appointed Managing Director at Listers

Steve joins us at a very exciting time of growth, investment and product innovation and has all the credentials and experience to drive Listers on to becoming even more successful and profitable by offering our customers best in class products and service and being the easiest fabricator to deal with.

Appointing a new MD is never easy and it was important to me, having got to know our customers, employees and the superb and unique culture that exists at Listers, that I got this right first time for all of you. I took my time and met with a number of candidates, but when I spoke with Steve who I’ve known for many years, I’m delighted that after a number of weeks of chatting he agreed to join me again and lead Listers to the next level.

Steve also originates from Nottingham, and served an apprenticeship at Plessey Communications (GEC) before progressing onto various management roles and senior directorships. We first met in 1995 when Steve was appointed Manufacturing Director at ABB Kent Water Meters, we left there 4 years later following growth and success in 1999 when we joined Everest where Steve became Operations Director and I became Manufacturing Director. We both left Everest in 2011 again at the same time after 12 years of growth and success to pursue our own stuff and now 7 years later…here we go all over again!

Steve has also had spells at CET Glass in Northampton (now Epwin Glass) and Wendland Roofs (now part of Ultraframe) and more recently Float Glass Industries and knows our industry well. Steve has managed and implemented growth, change and turnaround challenges throughout his career and is a manufacturing and operations expert and most importantly achieves success through developing people.
