Frequently Asked Questions

1) What are Building Regulations?

Building Regulations are set by the Government in order to ensure that buildings meet certain environmental standards and are constructed safely.

2) Do Building Regulations apply to Window and Door Installations?

Yes. The Building Regulations 2010 cover the construction and extension of buildings.

Building Regulations approval is also needed in order to replace windows and doors.

3) Do Installers have to Comply with Building Regulations?

Yes. It is the Installer who is responsible for ensuring that their work complies with the rules. Being a member of a Competent Persons Scheme allows you to prove you meet the required standards without the need to apply for Building Regulations approval.
