Listers welcomes our new Regional Sales and Marketing Director Sam Weber
We are very excited to welcome Sam Weber to the team as Regional Sales and Marketing Director.
Sam has been in the industry for more than 30 years, with most of his experience coming from the fabrication side. If you think you recognise his name, Sam started working for his father’s window business in 1990 when he was 18, before developing his skills across manufacturing, sales and marketing. He has worked for such recognisable names as Quantal, Cambrian, Speedframe, Evolution and CWG.
With a base in Brighton, Sam’s key responsibility will be to win new business across the south, from Kent across to Cornwall, while helping our existing customers maximise opportunities across business sectors and product ranges.
Sam will also refine our marketing messages to help support installers’ own campaigns and increase leads from consumers.
“I’m very excited to be joining Listers, especially at a time when the market for making and selling windows is changing,” Sam said. “Which is why marketing is such a fundamental part of developing and maintaining a brand identity.
“We’ve seen how changes in homeowners’ buying habits have helped develop the products we sell today, and it is important that we have that connection between manufacturing and the end user. Listers has a fantastic range of market-leading products, and I want to make sure that the marketing messages accompanying them help our customers sell more effectively.
“I’ve grown up in the industry alongside some of our best-known entrepreneurs. From them, I learned that you’ve got to keep learning to succeed, which is why I’ve recently studied marketing – including digital marketing. The way we sold windows 30 years ago almost bears no resemblance to the way we sell windows today, and we need to keep our approach to marketing fresh and exciting.”
Outside of work, Sam’s biggest passion is extreme fundraising, and simply reading his list of completed expeditions would leave most of us catching our breath. He is currently working with Sussex-based Chailey Heritage Foundation, which provides education and care services for children and young people with complex neuro-disabilities.
Among Sam’s most memorable trips are: climbing Kilimanjaro; learning survival techniques in the Amazon rainforest (which included catching and eating piranhas); and surviving Argentina’s Aconcagua (known locally as ‘the mountain of death’), which has a summit of almost 7,000m.
In the pipeline are a 300km trek across the Canadian wilderness, and rowing across the Atlantic.
Impressive for someone who is afraid of the dark!
Our MD Roy Frost welcomed Sam to the team.
“I’m excited that Sam is joining Listers,” he said. “Sam has an enviable amount of knowledge of the window industry, and I know that he is the right fit for our business.
“Our paths have crossed many times over the years, and I’ve been impressed with how he is able to spot opportunities and solutions. Listers is a growing business with ambitious horizons, and I’m looking froward to working with Sam to help making selling easier for our customers.”
