Learning and Earning with Listers

May the 23rd saw Lister Trade Frames open the doors for one of their now famous trade open days. An annual event in the calendar, this year it was a little earlier than usual due to some imminent changes in our industry.

Listers have always tried to integrate learning sessions into their trade days rather than just showcasing products and sales information. With the imminent arrival of CE Marking and Minimum Technical Competencies (MTC’s) for anyone installing windows and doors, Listers hosted a seminar to inform their customer base how this would affect them and how Listers would offer support.

“We’ve partnered with a local company, PM Training, who are a recognised Glass Qualifications Authority (GQA) partner to deliver a route to meet these all-important MTC’s,” said Listers Marketing Manager, Daniel Shaw. “Our aim is to make sure that all of our Installation customers are up to code in plenty of time and we’re offering as much help and support as possible.”

Each seminar lasted an hour and the feedback from customers was extremely positive. Keith Wooliscroft, a long-time customer of Listers said, “I’d heard that new legislation was on its way but I didn’t fully understand how to go about complying. Listers explained it to me during the seminar and also offered a simple and cost effective solution, one which I have signed up to and enrolled on the programme.”

In fact over 20 trade companies recognised how valuable the support Listers are offering is and they signed up on the day.

Of course no Listers Trade day is complete without new products and Listers introduced their new Loggia conservatory installation, the remarkable New Wave Multi Folding Door and their new Timeless window which is unique to Listers.

Thanks to the partnerships that Listers actively generate, they were delighted to welcome representatives from Ultraframe, New Wave and Roto who all took part in delivering a great day for Listers customers.

“We saw a lot of familiar faces as well as some new ones who were all keen to find out what’s been going on at Listers, and how we were helping with the new legislation,” said Daniel, “and judging from the fact that all of the customers seemed to leave with a smile on their face, we can safely say that it was a great success.”

Listers are always looking at ways to support their trade customers as well as expanding their product portfolio. They take great pride in making their trade days as informative and fun as possible and the 23rd of May 2013 they delivered in style.

When asked what the future holds for Listers, Daniel simply replied, “let’s talk about that at our next open day.”
