Listers Score Again; this time at Wembley!
The annual G-Awards event attracts manufacturers, suppliers and installers from across Great Britain, who compete to be recognised as the very best in their fields of expertise. The G-Awards are the Glass Industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.
This year’s glittering event, held on October 1st, was hosted by Mock The Week comedian Andy Parsons, who brought his own unique humor to the hundreds of gala dinner guests at the stadium. Despite the downturn in the economy and its effects on the glazing industry, there was a real buzz of anticipation in the air as guests and finalists waited for this year’s winners to be announced.
This was Listers’ fifth consecutive year as finalists at the event and they have previously won the awards on three occasions in the categories of ‘Fabricator of the Year’, ‘Training and Development’ and ‘Customer Care’. This year saw them as finalists for the highly topical ‘Energy Efficiency’ award. This award recognises those companies who have invested in improving the performance of their products, materials and service to deliver cleaner more environmentally friendly and energy saving goods.
Lister Trade Frames beat off competition from three other finalists to become award winners for a fourth time in five years. Not a bad score!
Mark Warren, Listers Managing Director was joyful at hearing the result. “It is such an excellent award to win. We have put in a tremendous effort to improve what we do and how we do it. Our products are more energy efficient than ever before and we recycle all of our waste products including old PVC windows and doors. This award is great recognition for our efforts.”
The annual G-Awards underline that while there may be difficult trading conditions, there are still companies who are striving to succeed and be the best in their class. Recognising these companies gives them a real boost and offers others in the industry a goal to reach out for.
