Listers – Here we G-Again!
Can you believe that another year has passed since the last UK Glass and Glazing Industry G-Awards? Well, November the 25th will see Britain’s best and brightest glazing companies come together at the Park Lane Hilton Hotel for a gala evening at the 2011 national event.
Trade window manufacturer, Lister Trade Frames of Stoke on Trent, is not new to the event having been finalists and winners at the prestigious awards for the last seven years. And this year they have achieved another company first by being nominated as finalists in not one but three award categories.
The G-Awards have become recognised as the highlight of the year for the glass and glazing industry where companies from across the UK can be showcased for their achievements in various disciplines including manufacturing excellence, customer support and promotional activities. Around 500 guests will attend the event to be hosted by Sean Lock, one of the UK’s most highly acclaimed and original comedians.
Listers, who have just celebrated their 35th year in business, were happily surprised to be selected in three categories this year. Mark Warren, Listers’ MD, said that the last twelve months had been particularly challenging for the company in a declining and evermore competitive market;
“Everyone at Listers has worked really hard this year to provide better products, better support and new business opportunities to our trade customers. We are still seeing growth despite the recession, and to be nominated for three awards is a great acknowledgement of our efforts to be the best at what we do and how we do it.”
Listers will be joining other leading Industry names who are nominated in this year’s awards, including Ultraframe UK, Pilkington Glass UK, Solaglas, Rehau and VEKA UK. All will be hoping to become this year’s winners at the event including Lister Trade Frames, but Mark says that “Listers don’t run their company to win awards; they win awards because of the way they run their company.” That’s possibly the best and most industrious attitude to have in any business.
